Draft Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture concerning Control and Animal Quarantine Measures for the Importation and Exportation of Pathogen Materials and/or Veterinary Drug

This regulation is intended as a basis for quarantine officers in conducting control and quarantine measures toward the importation and exportation of pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug, as well as for any establishment and/or person who would like to import and export pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug. This regulation aims to prevent the introduction and the spread of Animal Quarantine Diseases through pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug. The scopes of the regulation are as follows: - Quarantine controls; - Quarantine requirements; - Quarantine measures; - Quarantine measure for specific purposes; - Non tax quarantine services; and - Other provisions. Control for the importation and exportation of pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug carried out in the form of monitoring and carried out by profiling the establishments, country of origin assessments and risk assessment. The importation of pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug into and for the territory of the Republic of Indonesia is only possible if the disease already exists in Indonesia. If the disease does not exist in Indonesia, importation can be done only for the purposes of national or special interests. The importation and exportation of pathogen materials and/or veterinary drug into and outside the territory of the Republic of Indonesia must meet quarantine requirements, and are subject to physical and document inspection, as well as quarantine measures in the designated entry and exit points.

Significant New Use Rules on Certain Chemical Substances (16 pages, English)

EPA is promulgating significant new use rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for 20 chemical substances which were the subject of premanufacture notices (PMNs). Eight of these chemical substances are subject to TSCA section 5(e) consent orders issued by EPA. This action requires persons who intend to manufacture, import, or process any of these 20 chemical substances for an activity that is designated as a significant new use by this rule to notify EPA at least 90 days before commencing that activity. The required notification will provide EPA with the opportunity to evaluate the intended use and, if necessary, to prohibit or limit that activity before it occurs.
