This letter introduces temporary restrictions on imports of live poultry, poultry products, eggs, equipment for poultry, feed and feed additives for birds from Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil to the Russian Federation, as well as on the transit of live birds through the territory of the Russian Federation due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the region mentioned.Additionally, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance informs that due to deterioration of the epizootic situation, Brazilian enterprises producing all types of poultry products have been assigned a “special requirements” status in terms of the Registry of Establishments authorised to export to the Customs Union for a period of three months from the date of the restrictions. This status implies sampling within enhanced laboratory control from every third incoming consignment from each Brazilian enterprise to test for the presence of the avian influenza virus genome.

The Order approves the amendments to the State Medical and Sanitary Norms for safe usage of pesticides and agrochemicals, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 55 of 2 February 2016 (as amended by the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1276 of 28 May 2020). The amendments provide for the clarification of certain items in Table 6 and the addition of Table 7 to the State Medical and Sanitary Norms for safe usage of pesticides and agrochemicals.

La República de Colombia informa la expedición de la Resolución No. 00006022 del 23 de mayo de  2025 “Por la cual se levanta la suspensión temporal de la emisión de documentos zoosanitarios de importación (DZI) para algunos productos de origen animal procedentes de la República Federal de Alemania, establecida mediante la Resolución ICA 00001310 del 18 de febrero de 2025, por la presencia del virus de la fiebre aftosa”, considerando que el artículo 2 de la Resolución ICA 00001310 del 18 de febrero de 2025 establecía que la medida se mantendrá vigente hasta que el evento sea reportado como “cerrado” en el Sistema Mundial de Información Sanitaria (WAHIS) de la OMSA, y que el pasado 14 de abril de 2025, la República Federal de Alemania reportó a la OMSA, a través de la plataforma WAHIS, la finalización y cierre del evento relacionado con la presencia de brotes del virus de la fiebre aftosa en su territorio, con estatus de "Resuelto”. Dicha Resolución fue publicada en el Diario Oficial No. 53.127 del 24 de mayo de 2025, fecha a partir de la cual entró en vigencia.

The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of avian influenza virus was registered in Telangana state of India. In this regard, since 21 March 2025, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation and transit to the territory of Kazakhstan from the territory of Telangana state of India of live poultry and hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry meat and all types of poultry products that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 °C), feed and feed additives for birds (with the exception of feed additives of chemical and microbiological synthesis), hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermy (game birds), used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and cutting birds.

In this regard, since 19 March 2025, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation and transit to the territory of Kazakhstan from the territory of the Northern Ireland of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of live poultry and hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry meat and all types of poultry products that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 °C), feed and feed additives for birds (with the exception of feed additives of plant origin, chemical and microbiological synthesis), hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermy (game birds), used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and cutting birds.

Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) is proposing to regulate Chlorpyrifos, Paraquat and Paraquat salts at all concentrations and in all preparation forms as Hazardous Substances under the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA) and/or EPM (Hazardous Substances) Regulations (EPM (HS) Regulations) by including the chemicals listed in Section 4 of this notification under the Second Schedule for the EPMA and the Schedule for the EPM (HS) Regulations. The proposed regulation will enter into force on the same date as the effective date of the relevant recommendation of the Rotterdam Convention, which is planned to take effect in October 2025. Once the regulations take effect, importers, manufacturers, distributors and users of these chemicals and of products containing these chemicals will be required to apply for a HS Licence / Permit for their import, export, sale, manufacturer, transport, storage and/or use.
