This is an online E-learning course specifically designed for those who would like to learn and specialize in chemical product regulatory compliance resulting in a Certified Regulatory Professionals (Chemical) Certificate from RRMA. Learning Objectives for a regulatory professional in chemical sector (Regulatory manager, Compliance manager, Regulatory affairs manager etc.).  : 

    • Understand the role of a regulatory professional (Regulatory manager, Compliance manager, Regulatory affairs manager etc.) within various existing regulations impacting its business.

Eligibility criteria:  

One of the following scenarios must apply:

    • Diploma in Science or Technology with a minimum of 7 years of experience in relevant industry 

    • Graduate in Science or Technology with a minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant industry. 

    • Postgraduate in science or technology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant industry 

Mode of Delivery: 

The course will be delivered online through a LMS platform, allowing participants to access materials and lectures at their own convenience. Although live online lectures will take place, Self-paced learning is also possible, enabling individuals to balance their professional commitments with their educational pursuits. 

Course Format: 

    • Each lecture will be a maximum of 1 hour (45 minutes + 15 min Q&A) 

    • Some modules may require multiple lectures to cover complex topics in depth. 

    • Additional reading material will be provided to supplement lecture content and enhance understanding. 

Assessment: 

Assessment will be based on multiple-choice questions and answers, designed to evaluate participants’ comprehension of course material and their ability to apply concepts in practical scenarios.  

Course fees: 

The fee for this online course is 65,000 INR (approx. 780 USD) for non-RRMA members. For RRMA members, there is a 20% discount, which is 52,000 INR (approx. 625 USD). The fee is charged prior to the start of the course. The payment covers access to E-learning courses, exam, and administration.

[e-Learning Course] Basics in Chemical Safety Assessment 

About the course 

BCSA24: Basics of Chemical Safety Assessment is a fully digital Certificate Course designed for those would like to understand, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with exposure to pollutants and industrial chemicals. The course is open to students and working professionals.

This course provides a basic understanding and practical knowledge of chemical safety assessment. It introduces key terms and concepts and explains the basic understanding of the Chemical safety assessment, enabling them to contribute to a safer working and living environment. The lecturers of the course are experts in the field of compliance with rich industrial experiences, as well as academics from the respective fields.

Topics of this course include: 

 

    • What are the physical and chemical properties of the substances and practicalities of it? 

    • What are the methods to determine the environmental risks of chemicals? 

    • How to assess and interpret potential hazards of chemicals? 

    • How to conduct risk assessments for chemicals in the environment? 

    • How to apply the risk assessment principles to develop practical solutions and manage environmental risks? 

    • How is the scientific data and exposure estimation used in Chemical Safety Reports and Extended-SDS? 

    • What is the linkage between the physicochemical data, toxicity, and environmental fate concepts to the risk assessment of chemicals for human health and the environment?

The course is developed and taught by Regulatory Representatives and Managers Association (RRMA), Global Product Compliance (GPC) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad.  

The course start is March 20, 2024 (changes in schedules may occur), and the course runs for about 3 months. The teaching mode of the course is 100% online.

The course consists of 4 fully digital modules with maximum 10 hours of work effort each:  

1) Physical Chemistry 
2) Environmental Fate 
3) Environmental and human health risk assessment of chemicals 
4) Ecotoxicology 

Target Audience 

Working Executives: This course is open to individuals who are working in the chemical and allied industries. 

Student: This course is open to students who are currently enrolled in Higher Education Studies, and postgraduates having Science discipline or Chemical engineering background.

In 2022, China enforced its overarching regulation “Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Rules” (CSAR). Under this regulation, all manufactures of cosmetic ingredients and products need to notify NMPA before manufacturing, importing, and exporting services.

In China, cosmetic raw ingredients are classified into two categories under the Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR): Existing cosmetic ingredients and New cosmetic ingredients. For existing cosmetic ingredients, companies have the notification obligation which includes the submission of an ingredient code. For classifying new cosmetic ingredients, companies must comply via registration or record filling procedure.
