This draft Regulation relates to the current entry 23, paragraph 2, of Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006.<br />It would extend the existing restriction on the use of cadmium in certain paints to the placing on the market of such paints and introduce a limit value for the presence of cadmium of 0.01% in such paints. <br />As paints destined for use in the EU should already comply with this limit value when placed on the market, there is no need for a transitional period.<br />
