DUS 2002: 2018, Standard Test Method for Volatile Content of Coatings, First Edition.

This Draft Uganda Standard describes a procedure for the determination of the weight percent volatile content of solventborne and waterborne coatings. Test specimens are heated at 110 ± 5°C for 60 min. Sixty minutes at 110 ± 5°C is a general purpose test method based on the precision obtained with both solventborne and waterborne coatings. This test method is viable for coatings wherein one or more parts may, at ambient conditions, contain liquid coreactants that are volatile until a chemical reaction has occurred with another component of the multi-package system. Test Method D5095 for Determination of the Nonvolatile Content in Silanes, Siloxanes and Silane-Siloxane Blends Used in Masonry Water Repellent Treatments is the standard method for nonvolatile content of these types of materials. Test Methods D5403 for Volatile Content of Radiation Curable Materials is the standard method for determining nonvolatile content of radiation curable coatings, inks and adhesives. Test Method D6419 for Volatile Content of Sheet-Fed and Coldset Web Offset Printing Inks is the method of choice for these types of printing inks. This test method may not be applicable to all types of coatings. Other procedures may be substituted with mutual agreement between the producer and the user.

DUS 1993: 2018, Standard Test Method for Abrasion Resistance of Organic Coatings by the Taber Abraser, First Edition.

This Draft Uganda Standard covers the determination of the resistance of organic coatings to abrasion produced by the Taber Abraser on coatings applied to a plane, rigid surface, such as a metal panel. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard, with the exception of mils when determining coating thickness. This standard is similar in content (but not technically equivalent) to ISO 7784–2.

Review of the Dust-Lead Hazard Standards and the Definition of Lead-Based Paint

Addressing childhood lead exposure is a priority for EPA. As part of EPA's efforts to reduce childhood lead exposure, EPA evaluated the current dust-lead hazard standards (DLHS) and the definition of lead-based paint (LBP). Based on this evaluation, EPA is proposing to lower the DLHS from 40 [mu]g/ft\2\ and 250 [mu]g/ft\2\ to 10 [mu]g/ft\2\ and 100 [mu]g/ft\2\ on floors and window sills, respectively. EPA is proposing no changes to the current definition of LBP due to insufficient information to support such a change.

This Final Draft Uganda Standard specifies the scheme for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of cements to their corresponding product specification standards, including certification of constancy of performance by a product certification body. This standard provides technical rules for factory production control by the manufacturer, including auto-control testing of samples, and for the tasks of the product certification body. It also provides rules for actions to be followed in the event of non-conformity, the procedure for the AVCP and requirements for dispatching centres.

This Final Draft Uganda Standard describes the procedures for determining the contents of the most of the constituents of cements that fall within the scope of FDUS 18-1. The method given in Clause 6 applies to all cements, whatever the number and nature of their constituents. In the case where the operator is certain that the cement contains only, over and above the clinker and set regulator, blast furnace slag, fly ash or pozzolana, the other methods given in Clause 7 can be applied.

This Final Draft Uganda Standard lays down the methods for determining the heat of hydration by means of solution calorimetry, also known as the solution method. The heat of hydration is expressed in joules per gram of cement. This standard is applicable to cements and hydraulic binders whatever their chemical composition.

FDUS EAS 18-1, Cement — Part 1: Composition, specification and conformity criteria for common cements, 1st edition

This Final Draft Uganda standard gives the specifications which include mechanical, physical and chemical requirements of 27 distinct common cements, seven sulphate resisting common cements as well as three distinct low early strength blast furnace cements and two sulphate resisting low early strength blast cements and their constituents. The standard also gives the composition of each cement in terms of proportions and requirements of the constituents which are to be combined to produce these distinct products in a range of nine strength classes. Furthermore, this standard states the conformity criteria and the related rules. Necessary durability requirements are also given.

FDUS EAS 148-2, Cement — Test methods — Part 2: Chemical analysis, 1st edition

This Final Draft Uganda Standard specifies the methods for the chemical analysis of cement. The standard describes the reference methods and, in certain cases, an alternative method which can be considered to be equivalent. In the case of dispute, only the reference methods are used. The standard also describes methods which apply principally to cements, but which can also be applied to their constituent materials and other materials. An alternative performance-based method using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is described for SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, SO3, K2O, Na2O, TiO2, P2O5, Mn2O3, SrO, Cl and Br.
