Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Materials and Articles in Contact with Food was notified to WTO through G/TBT/N/TUR/89 on 31 May 2017.The proposal notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/89 has been amended with this draft regulation.This draft Regulation lifts the ban on the use of recycled plastics in food contact materials and articles and sets out rules for the reprocessing of plastic cuttings, scraps, and similar by-products. Also references to the legislation and the names of the Ministries have been adjusted according to the current situation.This regulation enters into force on the date of its publication. However, transitional period has been provided in Provisional Article 4.Provisional Article 4: Operators operating within the scope of this Regulation must comply with the amendments made with the publication of the Regulation until 30/11/2026.

Also, references to the legislation and the names of the Ministries have been adjusted according to the current situation.This regulation enters into force on the date of its publication.
