This measure will amend the Toys (Safety) Regulation 2011 as applicable in GB (“the Toys Regulations”) It will amend permitted levels of cobalt the Toys Regulations. It will amend the Toy Regulations, to introduce permitted limits of cobalt following a derogation request. Cobalt is currently classified as Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Reprotoxic (CMR) under GB Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulations.

Its objective is to update the list of enzymes that have passed safety assessments by the Thai FDA and JECFA.  This version repeals and replaces the previous enzyme lists in Schedule 1 of the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 443) B.E. 2566 (2023), issued under the Food Act, B.E. 2522 (1979), regarding Enzymes Used in Food Production. Furthermore, the draft includes Silicon dioxide (INS 551) in the list of permitted food additives for enzyme preparations under Schedule 4.

The notified interministerial order amends two orders by setting a timetable for reducing the maximum permissible cadmium content in certain fertilizers and growing media, and the maximum permissible amounts of cadmium when using fertilizers.It applies to fertilizers and growing media placed on the market and used under the conditions provided for in Articles L. 255-2 to L. 255-4 and paragraphs 1, 3 and 5 of Article L. 255-5.It does not apply to fertilizers and growing media placed on the market and used under the conditions set out in paragraph 2 of Article L. 255-5, which concerns fertilizers that comply with Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.G/TBT/N/FRA/242- 2 - The two amended orders are:• The order establishing the assessment procedures and values for the safety and end-of-waste criteria for fertilizers and growing media; and• The order establishing the maximum acceptable amounts of trace metal elements and trace organic compounds when using fertilizers.
