Distribution date: 07 October 2003

The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to revise a mandatory standard TIS 24-2536 (1993) Steel Bars for Reinforced Concrete: Deformed Bars. This standard covers deformed bars of a length 3.40 m and greater, manufactured by hot rolling directly from billet-steel, bloom-steel or ingot-steel made by the open hearth, basic oxygen or electric arc furnace process. Classifies deformed bars into 3 grades, i.e. SD 30, SD 40 and SD 50, and into 12 sizes, i.e. DB 6, DB 8, DB 10, DB 12, DB 16, DB 20, DB 22, DB 25, DB 28, DB 32, DB 36 and DB 40. Specifies sizes, mass, tolerances, chemical composition. Prescribes requirements for workmanship, angles between the transverse ribs and the axis of the deformed bar and mechanical properties. Includes marking and labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity, and testing.

Products Covered: Steel bars and rods (HS Chapter 72.14, ICS: 77.140.60)
