Central American Technical Regulation (RTCA) / Salvadorian Mandatory Standard (NSO) No. 75.01.12:04: Petroleum Products. Aviation Gasoline (AvGas). Specifications (9 pages, in Spanish).

Distribution date: 09 December 2004
This Technical Regulation establishes the specifications for certain types of aviation gasoline for civil use. It does not cover all gasoline suitable for reciprocating aircraft engines. This Regulation establishes the physico-chemical characteristics of the aviation gasoline known as "AvGas", the specific processing properties of which make it an appropriate fuel for spark-ignition reciprocating aircraft engines. Its main properties include volatility limits, stability, detonation-free combustion, and design and suitability for low-temperature operability. This Regulation does not apply to aviation kerosene (Jet A-1), the specifications for which are set out in another Regulation.
Products Covered: Petroleum products. Aviation gasoline (AvGas) - International Classification for Standards (ICS) code 75.160.20 and tariff heading 2710
Regulation Type: Regular notification

Central American Technical Regulation (RTCA) / Salvadoran Mandatory Standard (NSO) No. 75.01.14:04: Petroleum Products. Illuminating Kerosene. Specifications (8 pages, in Spanish).

Distribution date: 09 December 2004
This Technical Regulation applies to illuminating kerosene, the petroleum middle distillate fraction intermediate in volatility between naphtha (raw material of petrol) and diesel oil, with the characteristics of paraffin and an American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) distillation (boiling) range of between 200°C and 300°C. This Regulation establishes the physico-chemical characteristics of illuminating kerosene, a fuel used on a small scale in the domestic sector, mainly for cooking and lighting, in the absence of electric power. Other even smaller-scale applications of this product are as a solvent, pesticide agent and tractor fuel. Illuminating kerosene must not be used as a direct source of energy for food or beverage production.
Products Covered: Petroleum products. Illuminating kerosene (International Classification for Standards (ICS) code 75.160.20 and HS tariff heading 2710)
