BASICS IN CHEMICAL REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

This course provides an overview of chemical regulations. It provides an understanding of the history and impact of chemicals on human health and the environment, explores major chemical disasters and the regulatory responses that shaped modern safety practices, and offers an overview of international conventions and regulatory frameworks. Students will gain insights into diverse branches of chemical regulatory affairs, learn how internships and specialised courses can support entry into the field, and develop the ability to recognize public health implications of chemical exposure, assess hazards and risks, and apply lessons from past incidents to improve industrial safety and environmental protection. By the end of the program, learners will appreciate the importance of safe chemical management across the lifecycle and understand the critical role of the chemical industry in society.
