The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was registered in the states of Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington, California and New Jersey of the United States of America. In this regard, since 25 November 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the states of Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington, California and New Jersey of the United States of America of live poultry and hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry meat and all types of poultry products that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 °C), feed and feed additives for birds (except for feed additives of chemical and microbiological synthesis), hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermic treatment (feathered game), used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and butchering birds, as well as for the transit from the above territories through the territory of Kazakhstan of live birds.

The Minimum Requirements for Biological Products will be amended as follows:・ GENERAL RULESThe standard for “Tissue Culture Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus Vaccine”, “Pneumococcal 20-valent Conjugate Vaccine” and “Freeze-dried Human Protein C Concentrate” those are to be newly approved will be added. ・GENERAL TESTS Regarding the standard for “Antibody Assay against Measles Virus”, “Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay” will be added. The Public Notice on National Release Testing will be amended as follows: The criterion, fee, and quantity for “Tissue Culture Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus Vaccine”, “Pneumococcal 20-valent Conjugate Vaccine” and “Freeze-dried Human Protein C Concentrate” that are to be newly approved will be added. And the criterion, fee, and quantity for “Freeze-dried Inactivated Tissue Culture Rabes Vaccine”, “Freeze-dried Human Fibrinogen”, “Freeze-dried Polyethylene Glycol-treated Normal Human Immunoglobulin” and “Freeze-dried Human Antithrombin Ⅲ Concentrate” will be partially amended.
