The notified measure prohibits the importation, production, registration, marketing and use of drugs containing antimicrobials of critical importance in veterinary medicine and issues provisions concerning labelling for the marketing, in national territory, of other antimicrobial drugs for veterinary use. It also establishes provisions on the labelling and use of groups of antimicrobials deriving from phosphonic acids, third- and fourth-generation cephalosporins, and fluoroquinolones, for therapeutic purposes only.
