Acuerdo Ministerial No 008-2012. Se prohíbe el uso de Bromuro de Metilo en actividades agrícolas (Ministerial Decision No 008-2012 prohibiting the use of methyl bromide in agricultural activities)

The notified Ministerial Decision prohibits the use of methyl bromide in agricultural activities (crop protection, soil treatment) with a view to reducing emissions of ozone-depleting substances.Natural or legal persons still in possession of any methyl bromide for phytosanitary use in soils must declare it and hand it over to the competent authority within the 90-day period established to this end.The registration and importation of methyl bromide is still permitted for use exclusively in phytosanitary quarantine and preshipment activities carried out by the competent authority.
