Letters of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision regarding the temporary restriction on import of live poultry, incubative eggs, down and feather, poultry and all types of poultry products from Markisch-Oderland district, Brandenburg (Germany)

The Russian Federation notified in G/SPS/N/RUS/16 (8 March 2013) letters of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision No. FS-AS-7/2057 as of 22 February 2013 and No. FS-AS-7/2242 as of 28 February 2013, which introduced a temporary restriction on import of live poultry, incubative eggs, down and feather, poultry and all types of poultry products, from Markisch-Oderland district, Brandenburg (Germany) due to low pathogenic avian influenza (AI) outbreak. The notified measure was eliminated by the letter of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision No. FS-AS-7/12177 as of 13 September 2013.

Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Notification No.117 B.E. 2532 (1989) entitled "Feeding Bottle" to be replaced with Draft Ministry of Public Health Notification entitled "Feeding Bottle and Liquid Milk Container for Infants and Young Children". The draft MOPH Notification proposes to revise the measure pertaining to Feeding Bottle as follows: (1) This draft MOPH notification shall apply to - feeding bottles and its components (protective cover, feeding teat, locking ring and sealing disc) - liquid milk containers for infants and young children (for both repeated use containers and single use containers) (2) Prescribe permitted list of materials which are used to make feeding bottles and liquid milk containers for infants and young children. (3) Prescribe the general requirements for feeding bottles and its components as well as liquid milk containers for infants and young children. (4) Prescribe the specific requirements on substances for materials which are used to make feeding bottles and its components as well as liquid milk containers for infants and young children. (5) Feeding bottles, that are authorized to be sold prior to the effective date of this notification, are allowed to be sold not exceeding one year as from the effective date of this notification. (6) This MOPH notification will be enforced 180 days after the notification being announced in the Thai royal Gazette.

This draft standard revision is based, with a few changes and national deviations on the UN document "</span></span><em>Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)</em>"<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="letter-spacing:-0.1pt;"><span>.</span>&nbsp; This regulation is gradually replacing the 2 European directives which were the base for the standard's earlier edition (67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC) and that should&nbsp;be cancelled on 1 June 2015. The UN regulation's parts dealing with </span></span>substances had already entered into force in Europe in2010 and the regulation's parts dealing with mixtures should enter into force in 2015.</p><p style="margin-top:6pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="letter-spacing:-0.1pt;">Among the major </span></span><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="letter-spacing:-0.1pt;">differences&nbsp;introduced in&nbsp;this new revised draft standard we wish to emphasise the replacement of the R-phrases (risk phrases) and S</span></span>-phrases&nbsp;(safety phrases) in Hazard Statements (H) and in the precautionary statements (P).</p>
