The document introduces amendments to the CU legislation specifically to the Regulation on the Common procedure for carrying out veterinary control at the customs border of the Customs Union and on the customs territory of the Customs Union. The mentioned Regulation is adjusted with the following: - definition of the term "competent authority"; - requirements for issuing of certificates; - control conditions over the goods (products), imported on the basis of veterinary certificates, which differ from forms of veterinary certificates, established by the Eurasian Economic Commission; - conditions for issuance of replacement certificates. Veterinary certificate, early issued by the competent authority of the exporting country, can be replaced by the new veterinary certificate in case if its loss or damage (technical mistake or partial change in previously provided information, if such amendments are allowed). The Russian Federation notified the letter of the State Sanitary Inspector in G/SPS/N/RUS/35 (as of 11 October 2013). This letter introduced a temporary restriction on import of milk and milk products from Lithuania to the Russian Federation due to detection of incompliance to microbiology, sanitary chemical and organoleptic requirements. In December 2013 Lithuania provided additional information on application of additional measures for securing microbiological requirements, strengthening of production control, elimination of detected labeling deviations. Thus this measure was withdrawn with regard to import of milk products from Pieno Zvaigzdes, Lithuania.
