The notified Regulation establishes the following: (a) General hygiene standards, together with the sanitary conditions and requirements governing the manufacture, storage, retail packaging, processing, transport and sale, as well as the importation and exportation, of food and food additives for human consumption in order to facilitate their traceability and guarantee food safety by means of an integrated system; (b) the conditions, requirements and procedures for obtaining, amending, suspending or cancelling food health registration; (c) the conditions, requirements and procedures for the sanitary certification of processed foods and food additives and the authorization of food establishments; (d) standards relating to the sanitary surveillance of activities and services related to the manufacture, retail packaging, storage, transport, processing and sale of food; (e) sanitary safety measures, as well as offences and the applicable penalties.
