In Brazil, Law 7802 (Pesticide Law) is in force to regulate research, experimentation, production, labelling, packaging, transport, storage, commercialization, marketing, exploitation, import, export etc. of pesticides and related components. In Argentina, SENASA (National Agrifood Health and Quality Service) is responsible for conducting evaluation of the submitted information on pesticides to approve or not.
While in Brazil there are three responsible agencies for pesticides; ANVISA (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency), IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) and MAPA(Ministry of Livestock Agriculture and Supply).
Since Colombia is member of the Andean Community, Decision No.436 applies to agrochemicals. This decision harmonizes the rules for pesticide regulation and control in member states.
